'King's Speech' play to preem in U.K.

LONDON -- ''The King's Speech,'' the initial play that inspired the Oscar-winning movie, will get its world stage premiere in the western world Finish in spring 2012 carrying out a U.K. tour. The play is compiled by David Seidler, who won the very best script Oscar for his screen version of his unproduced original. Created by Playful Productions and Michael Alden Productions, the show is helmed by Adrian Noble, former a.d. from the Royal Shakespeare Company, and created by Anthony Ward (''Enron,'' ''Mary Stuart''). The title role is going to be performed by Charles Edwards (London and Gotham's ''The 39 Steps''), who lately starred opposite Eve Very best in ''Much Ado About Nothing'' at Shakespeare's Globe. Jonathan Hyde will have Lionel Logue. Even though six-week tour commences at Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud theater on February. 1, a West Finish berth has not yet been nailed lower.
